New Delhi 21 April 2026, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that Adi Shankaracharya strengthened the social fabric by establishing institutions across the country and continues to guide future generations even today. Addressing the Global Oneness Festival virtually this afternoon, Ms. Sitharaman said that in his short life span of 32 years, Shankaracharya established four mathas and institutions like the Dashanami Sampradaya in the northern, eastern, southern and western regions of the country. He said that Adi Shankaracharya is a symbol of eternal knowledge and spirituality.
