 Lucknow:The
complaint sent to Central Vigilance
Commission (CVC) by Lucknow based RTI
activist Dr Nutan Thakur for enquiry of
improper nomination of around 1000 local
congress activists and journalists to
the National Steel Consumers’ Council
shall be enquired by the Chief Vigilance
Officer of the Steel Ministry.
In an SMS sent to Dr Thakur, the CVC
office intimated her that further action
shall be taken in this matter by the CVO
of the Steel Ministry. In her letter to
the Chairman, CVC and the Prime
Minister, she had said as per rules
framed by the Ministry this Council is
supposed to have members from Iron &
Steel, house building and related
industries but here members have been
arbitrarily appointed and provided
luxurious gifts despite having no
relation with these fields, solely to
politically help Steel Minister Beni
Prasad Verma in the forthcoming Lok
Sabha elections. Calling it a blatant
misuse of official authority, Dr Thakur
had asked for probe in the appointment
of these Council members and cancelling
their membership and payment of the gift
money from the pocket of by the
sanctioning authorities if impropriety
in found in the appointment and
bestowing of gifts.

बेनी गिफ्ट प्रकरण की जांच करेंगे
लखनऊ स्थित आरटीआई कार्यकर्ता डॉ नूतन
ठाकुर द्वारा लगभग 1000 स्थानीय कांग्रेस
कार्यकर्ताओं और पत्रकारों को राष्ट्रीय
इस्पात उपभोक्ता काउंसिल में गलत नामांकन
के खिलाफ केंद्रीय सतर्कता आयोग को दी गयी
शिकायत की जांच इस्पात मंत्रालय के मुख्य
सतर्कता अधिकारी द्वारा की जायेगी. डॉ
ठाकुर को भेजे एसएमएस में आयोग कार्यालय
द्वारा बताया गया कि इस मामले में अग्रिम
कार्यवाही इस्पात मंत्रालय के सतर्कता
अधिकारी करेंगे. अपनी शिकायत में उन्होंने
कहा था कि मंत्रालय की नियमावली के अनुसार
इस काउंसिल में लौह एवं इस्पात, गृह
निर्माण और सम्बंधित उद्योगों से सदस्य
बनाए जाने का नियम है पर यहाँ ऐसे तमाम
सदस्यों को, जिनका इस उद्योग से दूर-दूर
तक कोई रिश्ता नहीं है, केवल इस्पात मंत्री
बेनी प्रसाद वर्मा को आगामी लोक सभा चुनावों
में मदद करने के लिए नामित कर कीमती उपहार
दिए गए हैं.
डॉ ठाकुर ने इसे अपनी आधिकारिक शक्ति का
स्पष्ट बेजा प्रयोग बताते हुए इन नामांकन
तथा उपहारों के सम्बन्ध में जांच कराये
जाने और गलत प्रक्रिया अथव अनियमितता पाए
जाने पर नामांकन रद्द करने तथा उपहार का
पैसा स्वीकृतकर्ता अधिकारी की जेब से वसूले
जाने की मांग की थी.
